Life Coaching Courses - 3 What exactly you need to understand Before You Go

1. What type of life coach do you want to be?

Life coaches
have numerous specialties including business, career, finances, health insurance and relationships. Through a systematic process, coaches help their clients improve their performances and achieve results their customers would not have achieved by themselves. Your goal like a life coach is to help your clients set achievable goals, take better action, make wise decisions, and much more fully use their natural strengths. The courses you decide on should reflect the overall area that you want to focus on. What need have you been trying to address?

2.
Determine if the life coaching is accredited

Why is finding accredited life coaching training courses important? The fundamental reasons are:

1)
You need to make sure you are getting quality training that has been verified via a standardized process. An expert coach that has been accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF) for example has met ICF's stringent requirements of education. An ICF accredited coach has brought very specific training, has completed a designated number of experience hours and it has been coached with a mentor coach.

2)
You need to have another weapon in your marketing arsenal when you're ready to promote your services. Place yourself within the mindset of a prospective client. What would they do after your initial conversation together? Odds are, they will be searching for your site, looking at your profile and reviewing your qualifications. An existence coach that has an industry recognized accreditation includes a higher possibility of landing that client that one which has none. An accredited coach can also easily justify higher fees for his or her service.

3.
Know if the course instructors have the necessary experience and aptitude for training life coaches

While
a course may have been certified by an institution, the educational experience can differ depending on the ability from the trainer to teach and guide a student. In the ideal case, you would want to receive the training from somebody that likes you developing great life coaches. Apart from researching the curriculum and accreditation, you should also do investigate the instructors too. How long have they been giving life coaching training? Get references from current and past students. Search for references in trade journals or perhaps in press reports.

Becoming a life coach is a noble pursuit which brings tremendous professional and private satisfaction. Getting the appropriate training is an important part of your journey so think about these three points before investing in any life course.
